Electricity Short-circuit Dominates Fire Cases in Central Jakarta

Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency has noted that fire cases in Central Jakarta area are mostly caused by electricity short-circuit with a total of 30 out of 51 cases throughout January-March.

"Then it is followed by leak on the gas stove tube with 16 cases and burning trash in residential areas with 5 cases," said Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency Head, Asril Rizal, Wednesday (4/29).

Yet, his sub-agency has yet to receive a fire report in April at all.

He assessed zero cases during this month is inseparable from the effort to socialize fire prevention which is still routinely done in the activities of spraying disinfectant liquid.

"When doing spraying, we also socialize the danger of fires and how to anticipate it. This might make zero cases in this month," he stated.
